PADI's introduction of the modular SCUBA course parallels the Emergency First Response's
impact on emergency training for the layperson. Significant time is given to person-to-person
practice during the course. This is important in that actual practice on real people, in
addition to supervised mannequin practice, allows you to become comfortable performing skills
during real life emergencies. This Emergency First Response course is a basic training course
in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency management.
EFR skills are learnt in a relaxed atmosphere in which practical application
and 'hands-on' practice are emphasised in the classroom. The course
is designed to be easy learning and to be relaxed and comfortable.
There are no Instructor presentations as such but there are audiovisuals
which make the Emergency First Response experience enjoyable and interesting.
SCUBA ZONE offers the Emergency First Response diving lessons course
over two evenings during the week (sometimes one full day at weekends)
The course is designed for all levels of divers and non-divers can
also take part. It is an essential course for the Advanced Plus and
Rescue Diver courses.
