As these course details are quite comprehensive we have also provided
them in PDF format which you can download and read at your leisure:

the "PADI - Deep Diver Speciality"
PDF. For any PADI diving course it is essential to complete a
simple Medical Form which you can
download here.
Enriched air is commonly known as 'Nitrox' and gives the diver the
advantage of staying underwater for longer and is also healthier due
to the higher oxygen content in the cylinder.
The purpose of the course is to familiarise divers with the procedures,
safety protocols, hazards, risks, benefits and theory of no decompression
diving with oxygen enriched air containing 22% to 40% oxygen.
To start the course you must have the PADI Open Water qualification
(or equivalent).
As with all PADI courses the majority of the knowledge development can be
completed by independent study using both the enriched air diver manual and video.
Prior to the diving component of the course you will also complete a practical
application session, held at our Nitrox filling station where we will take you
through the actual process of obtaining a Nitrox fill, with you personally using
an oxygen analyser to determine the oxygen content in your Nitrox blend.

There are two training dives where you will apply what you have learnt by studying the manual
and video; the practical application session will complete the course. Because most of what
you will practise involves pre-dive planning and activities rather than the actual dives, we
can run the nitrox programme concurrently with other training; giving us a lot of flexibility
to run the course around your schedule.
